#483 • JP Wiser's Commemorative One Fifty Series

43.4% alc./vol.
Hiram Walker & Sons Limited, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Happy Canada Day! We highlight this with a commemorative edition of J.P. Wiser's 2017 release for Canada's 150e, as there was not just Parks Canada giving nanannes to the world, the aptly named JP Wiser's Commemorative One Fifty Series.

We return to the waters of Wiser's Small Batch with a curiously accurate 43.4 alcohol degrees, just like the 2018 commemorative bottling, still available in SAQ (most branches are open today).

As the politician, the lawyer, the journalist and one of the fathers of Canadian confederation so aptly put it, Sir Hector-Louis Langevin (1826-1906) said so well:

If everyone could choose the place of his birth, some countries would be completely empty ...

Nose:
Caramel and rye, cinnamon and burnt oak. Shy but promising.

Taste:
Vanilla, maple sugar, rye and wood with a slight hint of pepper. Cinnamon and brown sugar.

Finish:
Long and peppery, with accents of cedar, oak and caramel.

Balance:
A nice well balanced edition, at the height of the 150e of Canada.
